About Me
My family moved to Park Ridge in 2003. My husband, Nick, was raised here. We have two children, Dominic (26) and Francesca (24), who both attended Franklin, Emerson and Maine South. I served on the Franklin PTO Board as the representative to the School Board. I have spent my career working for associations. For the past eight years I have been working for the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) as their CEO.
Why I Want to Serve on the District 64 School Board
I am proud of this community. I believe our public schools are a foundation of our strength. District 64 schools are some of the best schools in the region, and always striving for excellence will be a priority for me. We won’t become complacent and will always work to provide the best education for our children.
I know what it’s like to be a parent of a K-8 student and what it’s like to be on the other side of that phase. As a member of the District 64 Board, I will empathize with parents and students in our District and be able to think objectively about the entire district.
I understand the dynamics of a non-corporate Board of Directors, its relationship to a leader and their management team and its responsibilities to its stakeholders. I will start in the Board member position with a minimal learning curve when understanding the Board’s role and how it functions.
